Hi! I am so glad you’re here.

DIANE MILLER RN

As a seasoned professional, Diane has a diverse leadership background in healthcare, sports and finance.

She has dedicated her career to developing and managing programs aimed at assisting adults, teenagers and children facing various challenges. As a clinician and executive leader who worked in trauma, psychiatric & veteran facilities, correctional services, hospice and community/public health, she understands the power of human potential in overcoming difficulties.

Her expertise ranges from disaster response nursing where she played a pivotal role in the implementation of Disaster Mental Health Services for the American Red Cross, to developing and managing programs within behaviroal health hospitals and addiction treatment centers. As a crisis intervention specialist, she provided support and programs in communities across the country, including those for first responders. She has worked closely with police officers, firefighters, healthcare workers and media personnel who are the first on scene during natural and man made disasters. Her expertise was utilized while working as a nurse at Camp Pendleton during Operation Desert Shield/Storm.

She is also a member of the speaker's bureau for RAINN, a national organization that advocates for survivors of sexual assault. While living in California, she provided education and training for law enforcement agencies and emergency room staff. Diane's commitment to sharing her knowledge and fostering growth extended internationally as she represented American Nurses at the International Nurses Convention in the Middle East, collaborating with professionals from 92 countries. Her needs assessment/research led to a grant for a community wellness center in an area where families and youth are high risk for poverty and crime.

While raising her daughters, Diane took a hiatus from executive health care and accepted a position with a large brokerage firm where she worked in the wealth management division. This allowed her the flexibility to set her schedule and prioritize quality time with her family.

She has years of providing care and coaching to individuals from all socio-economic backgrounds, including those who are famous and wealthy & those who are hidden and homeless. She experienced first hand that there is not a direct connection between material wealth and a life of meaning and purpose. Yet, she also saw the impact of financial ruin on one’s physical and mental health.

As a financial advisor, she chose her niche of professional athletes and entertainers after seeing what can happen when a sports or acting career suddenly comes to an end…the fallout of defining one’s life’s purpose with a career that is often short lived. A niche where her clients were often at risk of depression, addiction and even suicide when their jobs and paychecks ended. For several years she taught financial literacy classes to NFL teams and rookie symposiums. Her psychiatric nursing background was just as valuable as her financial knowlege when she worked 1:1 with coaches and athletes to help them transition to life after sports.

Diane has observed the remarkable human response to adversity. Despite the unlimited resilience of the human spirit, she also learned there are practical tools we can all use to construct new meaning and purpose in our lives, transcending the challenges we face. She sincerely believes in finding the (often hidden) gifts of these challenges to make the world a better place.

Falling Into Purpose at its core utilizes these tools that she learned throughout her life both professionally and personally. She developed them at a time when she was recovering from breast cancer surgery and a shattered knee while triathlon training. These tools can be learned and used for any life challenge. To simplify, she uses the acronym PEGS:

Purpose Energy Gratitude Support.

Diane sincerely believes in our collective human potential to grow from all challenges. She understands that we all hold the pieces to make the world a better place.
